Basic Function: Develops and manages membership recruitment and retention programs that increase the membership base of the association, involvement and retention percentage. Develops new benefits, promotional programs, and services that enhance the value of membership.
Accountability: The Membership Director is accountable to the Executive Officer.
Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities:
Targets new areas for membership growth, develops prospect lists and recruits new members of the association.
Sets annual membership recruitment and retention goals for the association and develops a plan to achieve those goals.
Provide outstanding customer service to current and prospective HBAGA members, to ensure their experience with the Association is exceptional.
Develop and effectively implement aspects of the Association’s Strategic Plan that pertain to membership recruitment and retention, as well as the image the Association projects to members of the home building industry and consumers.
Evaluate effectiveness of strategies such as dues structure, membership categories, benefits and policies and recommend changes as appropriate to obtain goals.
Prepare and submit written and oral reports as required for both Board of Directors and Membership Committee.
Assists with other HBA functions as directed. Attends HBA programs/events, as directed, to influence membership retention as well.
Oversees the development of membership recruitment materials.
Develops new services for the membership, including member benefit programs and product and service discounts.
Facilitates the activities of the HBA Membership Committee, including meetings, membership drives, recruitment/retention activities, orientation programs, etc.
Identifies and trains volunteer membership recruiters.
Coordinates and develops recognition programs for volunteer recruiters.
Works in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant and communications staff to provide accurate membership information for the association’s annual membership directory.
Identify ways to effectively use WebLink Connect database for membership communications and record keeping.
Solicits products and sponsors for Benefit Home.
Provides support to other association committees as assigned by the Executive Officer.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Officer.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Proven results in sales
Association experience required
Excellent customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in CRM or database management preferred
Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Driver’s license and means of transportation
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs
Proven attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written skills
Additional Salary Information: Base salary plus commission - full earning potential ~$60,000+ depending on sales
